Spa Body Wash

I have tried all of the Young Living body washes. While I liked how they felt on my skin, I can't say that I got overly excited about the smell. I don't know what it was about them, I didn't *hate* the smell, but it just wasn't what I was looking for. That being said, I previously used the Bath & Body Works body washes, so I was used to the "fake," chemical smells.

I began looking for body wash recipes that were both nourishing for my dry winter skin, and smelled good. I tried to DIY a few options that I had found on pinterest, mostly using castile soap as a base and then some sort of carrier oil. I made one that was castile soap (unscented), honey (organic, unrefined.) and grapeseed oil. And of course Essential Oils. I can't pinpoint what exactly smelt bad, but something made it smell like really bad BO. NOT what I wanted in a body wash. I had about given up, when I stumbled upon the Young living Bath & Shower Gel Base.

The Bath & Shower Gel Base is a scent free bath & shower gel, that allows you to customize it how you would like. As I mentioned earlier, I wanted a body wash that both smelled good, and was nourishing for my skin. It is winter here in MN, and therefore most all of us are suffering from dry skin. I choose to add Vitamin E oil to my mixture. I found this one to be one of my favorites to use. It soaks into my skin quickly, and leaves it feeling hydrated and nourished.

I choose to use Lavender and Eucalyptus essential oils in mine. This is probably one of my favorite combinations in the diffuser. The smell always reminds me of a relaxing day at the spa. Lavender is well known for its ability to help you relax (and sleep...night showers, anyone?) and Eucalyptus has been known to have that "clean" smell. Who doesn't want a clean smell in a shower gel?!

Spa Body Wash

  • 8oz Young Living Bath & Shower Gel Base (1 bottle)

  • 2 Tbs Vitamin E oil ( I like this one)

  • 10 drops Young Living Eucalyptus Globulus Oil

  • 5 drops Young Living Lavender Oil

  • Glass dispenser

I hope you enjoy this body wash!! I haven't yet tired this as a bubble bath, but I am certain it would work great for that too!

What other oils have you used in your body wash?! Let me know you smell combinations!
